Vanguard Offshore is now one of the leading companies in the world currently in process of manufacturing Self Propelled Hyperbaric Lifeboats (SPHLB) and has the added advantage of an International intercompany network of authorized manufacturers service agents for commissioning of the boats and for warranty and routine servicing for statutory annual Inspections and 5 Yearly Servicing as per SOLAS requirements.

The Hyperbaric Lifeboat enables divers in fully saturated environments to be rescued from the diving system should a major incident necessitate their evacuation from their operational platform.

The Hyperbaric Lifeboat includes all ancillary equipment, engine, generator, crew facilities and life-support system for an independent survival capability of 72 hours and a davit launching equipment which can be supplied with a single point lift, two on- of-load lifting hooks or a combination of the 2 systems.

The craft is constructed of hand-laminated GRP with a round bilge form hull and a totally enclosed superstructure with elevated steering tower aft. There are integrated longitudinal buoyancy tanks filled with polyurethane foam, additional upper buoyancy ensures the hull is self-righting, even if heavily damaged. Power from the in built diesel engine will power the craft away from areas of incident.

The HLB’s are built according MED/SOLAS regulations and IMO Resolution A.692 (17), with approval by ABS.

The Hyperbaric Lifeboats currently being manufactured are for 12 to 18 man systems, larger capacities can be accommodated on request.  Our current customer base includes all principle commercial diving and offshore construction companies.

The lifeboat will mount on a diving support vessel or offshore rig. It is equipped for single point lifting with an off load release hook mounted on the hang off plate from the chamber. It carries two crew and a life support technician to operate the hyperbaric chamber, which will accommodate 12 to 18 divers. The vessel's support systems, fuel tank, food and water supplies are based on a classification endurance of a minimum 72 hours.
